Jaeger-LeCoultre Futurematic Series Watches
Jaeger-LeCoultre is proud to launch the second series of The Collectibles, once again bringing together rare and popular timepieces in a capsule collection. The Zhen Collection project is aimed at watch lovers and collectors who want to own the historical masterpieces of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture. It coincides with the 190th anniversary of the founding of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture.
The Masterpieces project covers the “golden age” of watchmaking in the mid-twentieth century (the 1920s to 1970s), summarizing the industry’s significant social and technological changes during these fifty years: evolution and the role played by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Maison in this process. The Jaeger-LeCoultre collection project continues to enrich the watch models, including watches with great historical significance and launched a global tour through the capsule series, which will be sold in different cities.
In addition, Jaeger-LeCoultre also launched an authoritative reference book for the collection project, including 17 rare timepieces with historical significance that witnessed the heyday of Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmaking in the twentieth century. The book contains exquisite illustrations, written by experts at the Grande Manufacture, like a detailed watchmaking encyclopedia, telling the legendary stories of each iconic timepiece and supplementing copies of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s relevant historical archives as evidence. Provides insights into the cultural and social contexts in which historical masterpieces were born. All the watch works launched by the collection project are carefully selected from the 17 timepieces introduced in this book. Fake watches for sale.
Eleven watches were launched in the second capsule series of the collection project, including the Duoplan watches in the 1920s, the early Reverso series watch, and two innovative masterpieces in the early 1950s: Futurematic series watches and Memovox watches.
The Futurematic series watch is the first fully automatic watch in history that does not use traditional crowns and winding devices, and it is also the most accurate watch at that time. Thanks to the groundbreaking Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 497, the eye can stop before it runs out, effectively “going to sleep” while retaining sufficient power, even when stopped for extended periods; it can also be restarted and travel time accurately. The Futurematic series watches do not have a winding crown but set the time through the disc on the back of the eye, and the overall design is more simple and symmetrical.
In 1957, seven years after the first Memovox alarm watch, Jaeger-LeCoultre engineers integrated two significant technical achievements, the alarm function, and the automatic winding, to design the Jaeger-LeCoultre 815 movement. The second capsule series of the collection project launched five Memovox alarm watches, including two Memovox Automatic Calendar self-winding alarm calendar watches. Each Prestige Collection timepiece is accompanied by excerpts from the Jaeger-LeCoultre archives, a Prestige Project book, and a new calfskin strap, depending on the style of the watch. In addition, the original box and wrapping paper (if any) and the original strap or bracelet (if any) will also be included.
Every timepiece of the collection project has been carefully checked by Jaeger-LeCoultre historical experts and fully maintained and repaired by professional watchmakers in the restoration studio of the Grand Workshop. The restoration team currently has ten experts. The team will consult the Jaeger-LeCoultre historical archives, find the design drawings of each historical timepiece, and even find the parts inventory of the original watch. If there are no immediately available parts, Jaeger-LeCoultre has about 6,000 kinds of molds and stamping parts, which can recreate the same features. Since the large workshop adopts an integrated production mode, all manufacturing processes can be completed independently. When it is appropriate to restore the internal mechanism of a timepiece, intervention on the case and dial must be kept to a minimum as possible. For the collector, excessive repairs can alter the historic character of the piece. Therefore, the Heritage Department of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture is dedicated to searching for timepieces as close to their original state.
